Is there a charge for setting up the tables?
No, we include the set up of tables and provide linen tablecloths based on the layout of tables decided in advance of your event. We just ask that all trash and decorations are removed from the tables by the end of your event.
Do you provide the firewood for the fireplace and firepits?
Yes, we provide the wood for the fireplace. Only Silverstone Farm employees are allowed to start the fireplace.
Can we enter the pastures to pet the cows?
No, access to barns and pastures are strictly forbidden by anyone in attendance of an event at the Barn. Viewing of livestock is only from outside the fence. Caution should be given to the electric fence that surrounds the pastures.
Can we take our engagement pictures at the farm?
Yes, we will give an hour of access with each reservation. This time must be scheduled in advance.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
No, the state requires all alcohol served to be through a licensed bartender and with proper permitting through the Alcohol Tobacco Commission.
Can I choose my own catering company?
Yes, you may use any caterer of your choose. The event center has a small warming kitchen to provide a space for your chosen caterer. They have access to the space during your rental period.
Can I rent a cow for my event for pictures?
Yes, we raise Holsteins and Brown Swiss dairy cattle for show. They are all social and photogenic. We do charge an additional fee of $150/hour for and it must be scheduled in advance of your event to properly prepare.
How many persons does your event center hold?
The Barn at Silverstone Farm can seat 200 persons for a seated event inside the barn with room for a dance floor and buffet line. Additional tables can be placed under the covered patio and on the lawn area to the back of the barn weather permitting. We do allow a tent to be erected on the grass area on the north side of the venue.
Do you allow pets at the event center?
Yes, but all must remain on a leash while on the property and at no time be allowed to roam. Any droppings from pets must also be picked up and disposed of in proper containers.
